“If I had to choose between ageism or sexism, I’d take a pat on the ass any day—at least that meant someone noticed me.”
~ Carole Montgomery, Creator of Funny Women of a Certain Age
What started as Carole Montgomery’s passion project to share the stage with her friends has grown into a groundbreaking comedy movement. A veteran of over 40 years in stand-up, Carole knew all too well that when she began, you’d never see two women on the same comedy lineup—and decades later, not much had changed. So she did something about it.
Funny Women of a Certain Age (WOACA) was born to showcase fierce, hilarious, and unapologetically authentic women over 50—women who paved the way for the comedians you see today. In 2019, WOACA shattered expectations when it became Showtime’s highest-rated stand-up premiere of the year. That first special made history, sparking two more Showtime specials that kept audiences laughing and wanting more.
Now, all three Funny Women of a Certain Age specials have been re-released by Comedy Dynamics, bringing this trailblazing comedy series back to the forefront where it belongs. With a rotating cast of powerhouse performers, WOACA proves that comedy doesn’t have an expiration date—it just gets sharper, bolder, and funnier with age.
These women aren’t just comedians—they’re legends, survivors, and game-changers. And they’ve got a hell of a lot more to say.

JULIA SCOTTI

Julia Scotti is unstoppable! When she’s not lighting up stages with her razor-sharp stand-up across the country, she’s wowing audiences on screen. She stars in the critically acclaimed documentary Julia Scotti: Funny That Way—a festival favorite that’s now streaming everywhere you watch digital films.
Never one to slow down, Julia continues to break barriers and prove that age isn’t just a number—it’s her superpower. She made a memorable cameo in the groundbreaking film Bros (starring Billy Eichner), brought laughs to the short film Relatable Joy, and her Dry Bar Comedy special, released in 2022, continues to win over fans with her signature wit. You can also catch her on Showtime in More Funny Women of a Certain Age, produced by her longtime friend Carole Montgomery.
Julia’s comedy albums are fan favorites too—her latest release, Primal Cuts, follows the smash success of Hello Boys, I’m Back! Both are available now wherever great comedy is sold.

CAROLE MONTGOMERY
“A comedy treasure who even more people need to know about.” — The Interrobang
The Las Vegas Sun hails Carole Montgomery as “one of Vegas’ premier comics.” The San Antonio Express calls her “one of the pioneering female comics of the modern era.” And The Seattle Times praises her as “one of the strongest women working today.”
With more than two dozen television credits, Carole Montgomery is a powerhouse of stand-up comedy. She has headlined top clubs and colleges across the country, starred in two hit Las Vegas production shows, and during her decade as a Vegas headliner was seen by more than 5 million people.
In 2017, Carole broke new ground by creating Funny Women of a Certain Age, a live comedy show spotlighting female headliners over 50. Its impact was immediate: Showtime picked it up, and the first special became the network’s highest-rated comedy event of 2019—making TV history as the first comedy special to feature six women over 50. Two more Showtime specials followed: More Funny Women of a Certain Age (2020) and Even More Funny Women of a Certain Age (2021).
Carole is also an acclaimed director and producer, helming Jim Florentine’s solo show I’m Your Savior (now on Amazon Prime) and developing Whore’s Eye View with comedian-activist Kaytlin Bailey.
Beyond the stage and screen, Carole is deeply committed to entertaining those who serve. She has led 11 Armed Forces Entertainment tours with her NY Underground Comedy Allstars, performing for U.S. troops across Iraq, Kuwait, Kosovo, Haiti, Germany, South Korea, and beyond.
Her career highlights also include performances at the Montreal Just For Laughs, Boston, and New York Comedy Festivals.
Carole Montgomery isn’t just a comedian—she’s a trailblazer, mentor, and unstoppable force in comedy.

GINA BRILLON
At the start of her career, Gina Brillon lit up legendary stages coast to coast, from Caroline’s in New York to The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory in both L.A. and NYC.
In 2012, she made history as the first Latina winner of NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity Showcase. The very next year, she was handpicked as a “New Face” at the world-renowned Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.
Her breakout continued in 2013 with appearances on Gotham Comedy Live and The View, which led to Gabriel Iglesias producing her first special, Pacifically Speaking.
Brillon’s momentum only grew. In 2019, she headlined HBO Latino’s Entre Nos with Easily Offended. Her next hour, The Floor is Lava (Prime Video), earned her a Gracie Award and an Imagen Award nomination in 2021. That same year, she made history again as the first Latinx comedian to reach the finals on America’s Got Talent.
She’s brought her sharp wit to Late Night with Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kevin Can Wait, and The Conners. Now, after four hit specials, Gina is back with her fifth—Mind Your Business—debuting worldwide on YouTube, February 25, 2025.
