“Vietnam…through my lens”
written by Stu Richel
This is a soldier’s story, a woven stream of the memories, photographs and reflections of a combat photographer…the odd path by which he got to Vietnam, what he did there and how things have played out since. His stories are true, but not typical “War Stories”. No blood and guts. No political statements. Some that touch the heart. Some involving a bit of drama. And some that can’t help but bring on a laugh and a smile. Just one guy’s intensely personal perspective on the most significant period in his life. Share some of his misadventures as a journalist and photographer, and (perhaps most importantly) how the experience has colored his life. Vietnam, it turns out, had tentacles that reached into the future
